Kirkby Summit
Kirkby Summit "NX" panel was brought into use on 11.09.1995 with the section from Newstead being added from 25.09.1995. The box works TCB within its own area and over the single line to Newstead where it finges with Trent NET panel. it works AB from Mansfield Woodhouse to Shirebrook Jct and from Kirkby Lane End Jct to Pinxton.
The "Robin Hood" Line

Kirkby Summit box opened on 11th September 1995 to control stage 2 of the Robin Hood line. It stands on the site of the fomer LMR type 15 of the same name provided when BR diverted the existing line onto the formation of the former GNR to avoid Kirkby-in-Ashfield town centre and eliminate two level crossings. Previous | NextKirkby Lane End Junction was created as part of stage 2 of the Robin Hood Line and was brought into use in september 1995. Here 66135 is seen taking the line to Pye Bridge with 7A23 Thoresby Colliery - Ratcliffe Power Station.
